“GOD HAS A PLAN FOR YOU”
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to His purpose.” –Romans 8:28
Purpose seems to be the concern of many people especially among the church community and Christian fellowships, one of the most asked questions is, “God what is my purpose?” What they are really asking is, what am I supposed to be doing HERE.
I hear this a lot in my congregation. Many times I am not able to answer this question the way many people would like for me to respond. What I have found to be true is that many people really don’t want to know their God given purpose, they really want to be given the job they want to do in church, and they are in hopes, that after we talk they will be allowed to obtain that position. I must say that 9 out of 10 times when this happens I am not able to place that person in the position THEY would like to have. I am saying this to say that our desires are not always God’s plans and will for our lives. Jeremiah 29:11 states God knows the plans for our lives and they are good, not evil.
God may have just called us to pray for the church at this time and we may want to be in front of the people preaching or teaching when that may not be our God given purpose.
