Talking about Prayer: Matthew 6:5-14

Prayer is the most important thing in the world right now. We all need to pray for this world and ourselves. Pray for the people over in Israel right now they are going through so much turmoil. Prayer is a solemn request for help. Communication with God. It is the only way you can communicate to God and HE is soverign God. Soverign means “supreme being.” He Is the headship. Prayer brings us in touch with God and others. Be serious about praying and if someone needs some help and you going places and you need to pray. Do not say you are praying and you are not praying for me or the other person. God is watching you and listening when you are saying those things. He is testing your faith, heart, walk with HIM.

Here are some parts of Prayer that we have talked about in our services:

Prayer of Adoration- Reverencing God for who is. Start by praising God. Matthew 6:5-14 “And when you pray, do not be like the hyprocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words,. do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father which art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name the kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is heaven, Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”   That right there you are giving him reverence.

Prayer of Thanksgiving- Thanking Him for what He has done. Pray for your leaders, family members, salvation, food on your table. Psalms 136:1  “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”

Confession – Confession our sins. The spirit of God will reveal them to you. All you have to do is say them and he will hear. “For all have sin and fallen to the glory of the God” – Romans 3:23   “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9     Don’t hold anything back from God. Pray to  him and he will help you through it all.

Intercession- Interceding for other people. Praying on someone elses behalf. Being a “Gap” stander. If that person of love one, family member, people over in Isreal needs our prayers or someone to pray for them.  “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy.” Ezekiel 22:30

Supplication/Petiton – asking God to do something.  Requesting help from God. Guidance.  “You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you can not get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You don’t have because you do not ask God.” James 4:2   What ever you need from God ask him in prayer. He knows everything about you, want you need and what you what. He will give what you need when he knows you need it at that time. God is not microwave God. He does not pop in and out of our lives. When you asking God for something don’t ask him with anger, bitterness in your heart.

Listening/Agreement – After you have done all the adoration, confession, petitioning, interceding. Listen to what He has to say. It is HIS turn to speak now. If no answer at the moment He will answer you according to your faith. Don’t go and do it on your own wait on His response. By agreeing with the Spirit of God you are making everything easy for you and HIM.  “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them.” – Matthew 18:20  He is there with you no matter who is agreeing with you when you pray.

Be Bless and stay Prayed up.
